Three Great Dry Flies

It’s been a while since my last post which is lazy on my part. To make up for it, I’m sharing 3 classic dry flies which are particularly productive for us right now (mid Spring). They are highly effective throughout the season during hatches and often outside hatch periods.

Enjoy the videos below and be sure to read my notes at the end of this post. I give you the Parachute Adams, F Fly and Shuttlecock!

All three of these flies are well known, standard patterns if you like. The key is not to simply tie them as shown in the 3 videos above or for that matter in any other videos.

Instead, tie them so they remain the immensely successful, general representations of fly life they are, while making them sufficiently different to say eat me instead of run away. Essential when a fish has seen the standard fly many time previously!
